He walks fast
For he's late
Greets the doorman
And runs out the gate.
Sees the yellow
But crosses anyways
Worried that it might not be
One of those days.
When he reaches the bridge
Over the river
Where the cold winds
Make you shiver.
He spots her coming
And feels warmed
As the distance closes
He feels charmed.
He looks at her
Dazed, spellbound
His heart skips a beat
And feet miss the ground.
How beautiful she is
Her face glows
Like the river
Her hair flows.
Upon her neck
A pendant shines
As she walks
A sweet bell chimes.
He hears the sound
And passes a smile
The girl looks up
She looks so fragile.
Their eyes meet
And the river flows
When you need not speak
Your heart knows.
She breaks the spell
And looks down
For such a crime
There is no noun.
She passes by him
Her face tense
As if whatever happened
Did not make sense.
But he's happy now
His day is made
Assured that his memory of her
Wouldn't fade.
He crosses the bridge
With a smile on his face
The office is still far
He quickens his pace.
And quickens he now
To reach the bridge on time
Assures himself in vain
That it'll be fine.
Sees the yellow
But crosses anyways
Worried that it might not be
One of those days..
