He sits and waits,
And waits in pain.
That his wait may end,
Is a thought so vain.
He sees her standing,
Talking to friends,
The world starts there,
And there it ends.
Surrounded by the sea,
The sea of her thoughts,
He thinks of ways,
To get his feelings across.
But afraid he is,
To get up and go,
Up to her,
And let her know.
So he sits and waits,
For their eyes to meet.
He hopes that rendezvous,
Will do the feat.
His wait ends,
Their eyes do meet.
He wishes she could hear,
His thumping heart beat.
The moment is over,
She's now gone.
Standing amidst the sea of thoughts,
The lighthouse alone.
And,
He sits and waits,
And waits in pain,
He knows that he failed,
Yet again...
